Delta Plus

Never posted what I got on the textures aside from the deviations. I hope the shield is at least close to right, if ever a shield is revealed to be true. If not I might have to do some backpeddling... As for the PG Astray, I've just now come to notice that what appear to be shared frame parts between the Strike and Astray are a darker shade of red than the red armor parts. Interesting.

Delta Plus and Unicorn 2

Just poopin around again. Watched the final episode of 00 today. It ended better than I thought and I enjoyed the 0 Gundam vs Exia scene. Seems a shame that these episodes are so short.

Delta Plus and Unicorn 1

Screwed up on the reentry flames. I think I know where I went wrong. I'd go back and fix it.... but that PG Astray came in and I'm marveling at it's awesomeness. Got those nice transparent armor pieces as well as the extra sword. Whew! I wanted to 3d that one up someday too...

Delta Plus: Prototype Transformation 2

Got the beam rifle in there and fixed the legs a little but it's not enough. Been busy running to get some marathon training in so I haven't done much yet.

Delta Plus: Prototype Transformation

I'm not sure that the Delta Plus even has a shield to speak of (I haven't read that far in the book), nor have I seen any art of it's entire transformation, though I am aware that it has some sort of variable system like the zetas (or even the original Delta Gundam plan). So I based the transformation on the Zeta, but the legs don't seem to follow the zeta transformation -- looks to be more like the methuss'. I don't know for sure either way so I'm just experimenting for the time being. Edit: I'll be damned, the rifle attaches to the outer section of the shield when in waverider mode. I'll have to fix that too.

Delta Plus: Armament + Legs 2

Just got around to the shield and tried to fiddle with the legs. I'm fairly sure that it's close to being done, save the tweaks on the legs and shield. Might even need to make the gun longer. Edit: Darnit! The canards on the wing binders didn't show up in the render.

Delta Plus: Legs 1

Ugh, I still can't sleep. Might not sleep again tonight. The legs are again based off of the Hyaku Shiki's but at the moment they're at the prototype stage. Trying to make sure the sizes are about right with Katoki's version and then go back in and redo the basic parts that makeup the outer armor. Shaping up OK, but the lower legs are quite large. Just a little more time.

Delta Plus: Body

Feeling sick and couldn't sleep a wink last night. Seems like the heavy wind might take down the electricity again. Dammit, Aomori. Made some changes. Took the Zeta variable form torso and redid it to look more delta plus-y. The side skirts were easily changed from the Zeta type to the boxy booster-ish type while the rear skirt was basically slightly redone using the original Zeta shape. Used the Hyaku Shiki shoulder guards as a jump off point for the Delta plus' which seemed like a good idea at the time. They should be decently similar in appearance. The upper arms are straight from the Hyaku Shiki while the lower arms are modified versions of it -- somewhat lengthened with a little more geometry added underneath. The wing binders are a combination of modified hyaku shiki and zeta plus's. The legs are just the hyaku shiki legs for now as I haven't started them yet. I would guess that after the legs, the shield would come next, though I'm still looking to see what the shield is supposed to look like (possibly like the Delta Gundam's).

Delta Plus: Head 2

While the mesh will be built based on the Hyaku Shiki, I'm using the Zeta as the basis for the transformation so I will end up using the zeta rig/mesh for placement of the completed Delta parts. The head placement is off, but that's obvious I think. I started the waist section as well but haven't gone far as my machine has been quite busy today. Looks pretty damned ugly so far. I'm sure that it will be ok in the end though.

And she appears thusly. I'm quite certain that I have missed some nooks and cranies and it feels a little flat. It's possible that some beveling is in order.

While working on other stuff I decided to work on something a little easier to keep the posts going a little and not let it stagnate too much. A set up of the gun, but not much detail.

Delta Plus: Head 1

Put in a slightly newer geforce card in the old pc and the opengl performance is a wee better than it was before, but not great. Still need to get a new SOB. Working on some Unicorn stuff as usual but I wondered if starting a Delta Plus would be a viable option as a conversion. So I'm using a bunch of online pics and magazines [especially JUNIII's conversion] to assist. I was off to an ok start but I'm getting ready to settle in for the night so going to hit the F9 button to see if a good render will come out when I wake up. Ah, the reconstruction of the Hyaku Shiki head to the Delta Plus -- or the start of it. edit: replaced the F-95jd link with the delta plus. Just for now.
