GP-02: WIP 1

I'll probably be working on this image for a while longer. Some things didn't quite turn out like I had hoped.

GP-02: Not quite yet

...but getting there. Still working on textures, fiddling with geometry and what-not. Haven't actually even finished the booster binders quite yet.. just jumped into other stuff.

I had almost forgotten about this model in these last days. Festivals galore! Anyway, still moving with it. Boosters are almost there -- still need to straighten some edges and fiddle with detail. I ended up mounting the beam bazooka instead of the nuclear one just to be weird.

Getting it together slowly. Geez time is moving so fast nowadays. I had planned to get this finished a little sooner than this...

The bazooka designed for the GP02 as a mobile suit variation weapon.

GP-02: Atomic Bazooka 2

The town festival is coming up and I've been practicing with the locals so time has been stiff again. Just getting to the end bits of this one.

GP-02: Atomic Bazooka 1

The original GP-02 carried with it a bazooka capable of firing a MK-82 nuclear missile (a violation of the Antarctic treaty). The bazooka was split into 2 pieces, one being anchored to the rear of the right shoulder armor and the other half stored in the massive shield's rear compartment. An alternate version by Katoki Hajime (a variation) did NOT use a nuke. I was planning on both versions really. At the moment, I'm starting the atomic weapon.

It's getting closer. A lot of detail left to go.

Starting the work on the shield. The symmetry present in the shield design makes it seem like a simple job.

Returned from Sendai and only recently having time to work on the legs again.

Going through the motions with the leg. A bit strange shaped, especially on the little figure...

Imported the hands from the Gp01 for now. Otherwise, pretty close.

Going for the arms. I'll probably wait on the boosters until close to last.

Still moving on. A little quicker than I thought it would take. I'll probably knock out the arms when this gets done, as usual.

It's coming along. Need to straighten the edges a bit and add some more mechanical detail. Keeping that shoulder sensor for now. If I think it's annoying in the future I'll slap it away.

Just barely starting the body and backpack. This week has been pretty busy with marathon and relay race training. Feeling tired. The orange sensor section seems to be in many of the GP-02 body representations, but not the GFF figure, so I'm debating on whether to keep it or not (I don't really like how it looks normally).

Went camping so progress is behind a bit. Still working on the head/neck.

GP-02: Physalis

The one on the left is the original GP02 by Shoji Kawamori while the right is the slightly restiled machine made for the plastic models by Katoki Hajime. A somewhat differen't version exists for the GFF line of plastic figures and a yet altered version exists for the 1/144 series of plastic models... again by Katoki. So basically I'll be sticking to Katoki's version of this machine. Well, one of them. Again, the almighty head has been started!
