ZZ Gundam: Mess Around

I really REALLY don't remember what I was thinking for the ZZ Gundam. Maybe I was just aiming for the FAZZ. I'm certain that some of this is not all that close to the MG, since all I had to work with was the GFF. I suppose I was working toward the sentinel gundam for some reason or another... Anyway, it looks dated compared to many of the others...

Zeta Gundam V2: Armament

As I have before, I generally went back to older versions of the previous zeta mesh and stretched/reformed a lot of the geometry so that it would look closer to the newer incarnation. Still, needs a few bits here and thar, but in general I can see it coming out well in the end.... woo hoo!!

Zeta Gundam V2: Wings 1

...Or something like that. Trying to refab the wings from the ver 1 mesh. Some parts have been completed while others have not. Needs a lot more detail that I think I'll try to hard model in. Got a business trip in Tokyo coming up next week and them some vacation time. Would like to finish this before then...

Zeta Gundam V2: Stabilizer

Took the old Ver 1 stabilizer, stretched and skewed it a bit, then added a few more sections of detail. The smaller stuff I'll yet again bump out.

Zeta Gundam V2: Legs 2

They look a whole heckuva lot straighter than they did on the older Zeta, not to mention longer and more slender looking. Still needs some finishing touches on the leg frame and some surface maps to get the seams.

Zeta Gundam V2: Legs 1

Taking a break from surfacing Ijustice to get to some more of the Zeta that I left behind there. The legs look thinner and sharper on the newer zeta versions so I'm leaning towards that.

Jiggling around some of these polies yet still. The arms are looking ok, but the hands are monstrously bad. I'll have to ditch the armor and start anew on that.

Zeta Gundam V2: Head 1

Mentioned that I had a strong urge to return to previous meshes and update them. Worked on the Zeta 2 years ago but that mesh was based on the version 1 MG. Looks chubby. Going back to the earliest stages to try to make it look like the version 2 that came out sometime after. Some of the changes look subtle enough...

Again, my attention wanders...;)

Zeta Gundam: TEST RENDER

A really basic test render of the Zeta Gundam and Zeta in Waverider mode. The polygon count is really too high, so I'm trying not to freeze most of this (except whatever isn't "smooth" enough in the render) . Seems that overall it's not too bad. I have to make the bump maps and decals to finish it off as usual. Other than that, mess around with the waverider transformation, since a few things didn't turn out perfect on it. But overall I'm satisfied thus far. Ah, Strike Gundam comes soon.

Zeta Gundam: Standard Gun

The standard expandable gun for the Zeta. I don't think I'm going to go for the hypermega cannon afterall. I need to move forward with strike soon to get back on course as I also have figure out how to model the Archangel from gundam seed.

After some computer problems (my CPU was frequently hitting 94Deg C even though there weren't any processing pushing the cpu time up), I'm back on course. Started the arms...

Zeta Gundam: Body 2

I'm close to done with Zeta Gundam body. I forgot the lump that goes on the cockpit hatch and it needs a little bit more in the way of mechanics on the inside so that the lower body will rotate up and into the chest, but otherwise, it's not too bad. I thought the Hazel Gundam poly count was fairly high with all of the options, but all of the moving parts in this gundam seem to be jacking the polygon count up quite a bit.

Zeta Gundam: Body 1

Back to Zeta Gundam. I'm afraid the body of this particular gundam isn't as straight-forward as so many others, so it's taking me somewhat longer to get things together on it. So many different artists and sculpturers have their takes on this model that it's hard to figure out which one's I should take extra detail from to add to this 3d model. I've setteled on a few. I figured that since the Hazel Gundam was detailed up, I should try the same with this one...
