Murasame: Re Transform

Fiddling around with the murasame transformation. I messed up previously with the arms and it was hard to tell. It's getting better I hope.

Murasame: ReSurface

Still looking at revisiting the carrier with the murasame. But I thought I'd redo the surfaces here as well.

Takemikazuchi - For now

I think I've looked at this one long enough. I'll make the crew that I really wanted and come back to this one for sure -- it took me this long to put together.

Still on it...

Still working on the water and adding more ships. Conveniently running out of memory a great deal so I'm probably going to have to bump that up in the near future. The astrays - the dumbed down version of the red frame created earlier as well as the flight unit, need shields and guns and the ship itself could use more detail -- and maybe roll back the fog a bit.

Murasame: Shield 2

Jeepers, she looks a little messed up transformed. I'll go in there and get it gussied up a bit before I use it. The transformation didn't go as I planned, but a bit of work on the rig and it should be right as rain. I probably relied too much on strike as a jump off point and not enough on Zeta. Still, it shouldn't be a bad fix.

Murasame: Shield

Finally getting to this part. Trying to get myself up and running for marathon training but seems like my legs aren't really moving like last year yet so taking time out for that every now and then.

Murasame: Legs 1

To keep the same scale, I built the leg armor on top of the strike legs, but using the zeta plus ideas for geometry. Needless to say it still requires some fixing, but I'm satisfied that it's going the way I want it to thus far. No need to make it super detailed, but I want to keep the stature about the same.

Murasame: Arms

Not sure whether I'll keep this configuration or change the forearm to a more Murasame look, but for now this is how I think I'll keep it. If the transformation suffers from it I'll change it.

Murasame: Waist

Elongated a few features of the waist section and did some changing on the side skirt. Again, it's a version adapted to the scale of the Strike Gundam so that it might look a little more master-grade-ish. Just guessing, of course.

Murasame: Body 2

I'll have to scale back the smooth textures setting because some of this is looking too "bubbly" again. Anyway, I'll also have to check the chest and shoulder sections once the arms are in place so that I can rig them and check to make sure they clear the chest section when transformed (like the zeta)

Murasame: Body 1

I tend to like variable form machines like the Zeta and Zeta plus units (though not so much Wing/Wing Zero or simpler machines). In that same spirit, I really do like the Murasame's transformation... I have a problem with it's boxy/rigid shape so I'm basically using an early version of the Strike body (again) and remixing the chest area. If all goes well it will be functionally similar and recognizable without the boxy shape -- and will keep the general design flow of Bee-Craft (who did not design the Murasame).

I also wanted to keep Strike's chest mobility, so I moved the chest swing arms toward the neck assembly so that the upper arms and shoulder could still rotate freely. I'll still have to modify the backpack so that when the chest swings up they can connect correctly and not have any weird missing parts.

Murasame: Head 2

Getting close to being there. Been busy the last couple of nights so things are moving sloooowly.

Murasame: Head 1

If all was in good order it would seem that having the Takemikazuchi ship would also mean having some Murasame's lying about on deck as well. I've wanted to make one for the longest of time but never got around to it (as with most of the MS I've wanted to make). I suppose that this is it then. When I planned for it earlier [like 2 years ago] I had hoped to bash some other meshes together to make it. Even now I'm thinking about doing just that....

...of course, the rather normal, boring-looking "start" of the head...
how many times have I said that... ;p
