Took a while to get here. I'm thinking of having the art book feature a larger version of this.

Furthering the details somewhat. Still a wee bit to go.

S-Gundam: Beam Smartgun

Getting on the beam smartgun for the S-Gundam which is also used by the Hummingbird.

Hummingbird: Legs

The legs have been replaced. What's been put in their stead is a stripped looking frame that seems to allow a bit of movement but not much. The mechanical knees are completely different and now bend a bit farther so that the frame can transform a bit better. Thankfully, the transformation from Waverider to Mobile Suit is made somewhat easier as there are less moving parts. The torso has also been fitted with fuel tanks on the underside. I still have to modify the front pelvic flap.

Hummingbird: Arms

The previously made S-Gundam Bst boosters had to be modified to work on the Zeta Plus. Basically for that, the fuel tanks in the bst body are dumped and in their place sit a a mechanical assembly and a connector piece for the arms. The upper arms have had their armor removed and the frame underneath (which was fairly simple before) has been visually enhanced to look more mechanical. Still lots to do. The boosters are still not quite finished as there is supposed to be a slight bend at the neck of the booster to make it stick outward a bit.

S-Gundam BST

The start of the booster for the Ex-S, Hummingbird, and the S-Gundam Bst. The hummingbird required more than one type of this booster -- one type for the legs and one type for the arms. The base however is basically the same.

Zeta Plus: C1 virtually..

virtually there. Need to make some bump maps for the shield and finish mapping out the fuel tanks and the smart beam gun...but the building is finished. I think from here I won't make an image and I'll just run on to the Hummingbird.

Zeta Plus: C1 Shield

Refitting the Zeta Plus A1 shield so that it has the C1 parts (the cannon and sensor dish) for the beam smart gun.

Zeta Plus: Back 2

Still a bit sick so updating has been slow. Almost there with the wings and the sub arms that help them rotate for transformation.

Zeta Plus: Back 1

Started the stabilizer on the back. Feeling pretty sick these last few days though so I'll probably not update for a wee bit.

Zeta Plus: Arm 2

Basically the arms are there now. Gotta work with the fingers a bit more there, but not that bad for now.

Too much time has passed since I've opened modeler. Started on the arm here. Should get through it quickly.

Zeta Plus: Body 2

As expected a lot is happening in real life that is preventing me from being able to update in a timely manner. The body of the Zeta Plus A1 has progressed only this far at the moment.

Zeta Plus: Body 1

Nah, I think I'll stick with the Zeta Plus for now and get back to Saviour later. It's not really needed at the moment. So moving on with the body, changing this-and-that which was done in the original Zeta Gundam. More geometry is needed than I thought, but still not bad.

Zeta Plus: Head 2

Finally scratched together some time to get a render on. Getting close here too.

Zeta Plus

continuing the "start" of various meshes to get my foot in the door before my big distraction. This is the Zeta Plus series, a cheaper, mass-produced version of the Zeta Gundam featured in the Sentinel Gundam photo novel. Like the Zeta Gundam it transforms into a mobile armor similar in shape to conventional aircraft. There are at least 2 versions: the A1 (below) which is made mostly for atmospheric flight and the C1 (above in bw) for space flight. The latter tend to have extras like separate fuel tanks and a smart beam gun attached to the shield/nose. They are usually grey in color, except at least one. Finally is the Hummingbird which is a Zeta Plus with 4 extra boosters almost identical to that used by the Ex-S Gundam. The legs are replaced with two rather large boosters and 2 are mounted in the rear. Again, the modest start....EXCEPT that this is generally a conversion from the previous Zeta Gundam. New geometry will be attached in places it needs to be. However, I expect this to be a relatively easy change-over.
