Akatsuki: Shiranui 1

Kind of getting through it. It's difficult to judge the relative size(s) of everything in the shiranui mesh as Vicious Project doesn't appear to use any strike parts to make the shiranui... at least not that I can tell. So while I'm still not done building it, I'm also not done scaling everything to fit. Still studying.

Akatsuki: Oowashi 2

Screwing around with the way it looks. Might lengthen the wings a bit more. I haven't yet figured out the pseudo-cockpit section of the Oowashi fighter and I haven't gotten around to building the inside of the energy cannons, so it's basically hollow.

Akatsuki: Oowashi 1

So what I like about the vicious project is that it appears to build directly off the Strike's Aile pack as far as the Oowashi pack goes -- which is nice since it means I can make educated guesses about where to build what parts and how to scale them in relation to the Aile pack.

Akatsuki: Beam Rifle

I'm too tired to do anything significant today.
Basically I just added a small cubby on the bottom of the Strike's beam rifle for the Akatsuki's beam saber. The vicious project version of the Akatsuki seems only to have that specific modification. Otherwise, the actual plastic model seems to differ a bit. I might sway it toward the plastic model direction if I feel so inclined later on.

Akatsuki: Legs 1

Removed some pieces to alter and then replace them. The vicious project version of the Akatsuki seems to have the ankle guards much lower than the original strikes ankle guards, but still having room for the foot.. .which leads me to believe that they've lengthened the ankles. Experimenting with that thought at the moment. In any case, the legs still need some work.

Akatsuki: Arms

Gotta smooth out the shoulder armor and lengthen the forearm a somewhat (lifted them right off of the Freedom mesh). Then get a few more detail lines. Other than that, it's not far from the target.

Akatsuki: Waist

The good old strike waist modified from an earlier saved version of the mesh before I started digging into it. It wasn't too bad I suppose.

Akatsuki: Body + Head

Well, the progress thus far. Though the head is basically from scratch, the body is of course that of the "Strike Gundam" with the front chest modified to curve down a bit and the top section rounded off to look more like the Akatsuki. My decision was based on the Vicious project version of the Akatsuki given in a comment on the previous post -- though I rounded out the front section more than vicious' squared off version.

I promised myself that I'd NEVER make this one as well, but here I am. I figured at least that I'd probably get this one done a bit easier than the Hi-Nu simply because I can build this one on top of the Strike/Strike Noir frame -- which could make this one a bit smoother looking. I dunno. Mind is going everywhere nowadays. Despite liking the "Strike" system a whole lot, I'm not a fan of this design or the "color" simply because of its perceived invincibility...but I figured that it's close enough to the strike where it might be doable. So, basically going off of what I can find online, but maybe jazz it up a bit and lose the super reflective surface.

And so... the usual and humble beginnings of a moble suit... head...

Nemo: Body 2

Oooh, aaaah...amazing. I guess not. But taking a break on Unicorn and hitting the nemo real quick. Was actually thinking of something not on the list simply because it seems like it'd be doable as a mod of an existing mesh instead of from scratch. Perhaps I'll post something on it tomorrow.

Unicorn Gundam: Destroy Mode

It kinda works. I forgot to shift the inner leg armor so that it pops out of the front section of the knee guard assembly. But for the most part it isn't an eyesore. I probably won't move this to the finished section until I get the hand held machine gun in there. Still have problems in the lower leg. I thought I had shifted the leg cuffs downward enough. Ah, well.

Unicorn Gundam: Leg 2

Took quite a while to rig the legs and feet. Had some trouble with how to to about parenting some of the parts so the transformation could be done with little work as possible afterwards. Anyway, I would say that they're "done" since the construction is generally complete, but there's always something small that I forgot here and there especially in the leg rig since it's a bit off.

Shin Musha: Shotgun

I took a few leaps of faith on this one. It probably shouldn't be round towards the bottom, but probably doesn't need to have as many straight edges as it does.

Works out ok so far. Got to get some last minute detail in the back section of the sliding armor, but no biggie thus far.

Finally my arse is getting to this one. Not an impressive mesh, but needed anyway just for completion. Still have to see about that shotgun...

Way too much to do now as "busy season" has finally hit. It'll probably be slow going from now on. :( Anywho, the good old shield started off as I expected.

I just love how this thing looks when its finished.... though still a ways to go. Some parts are just plain ugly looking right now so back to straightening some lines and smoothing some parts over.

Got a headache so not doing the leg now. I thought maybe the gun would be a bit easier on my head. Might be that I stare at screens too much during the day.

Unicorn Gundam: Leg 1

Figured I'd show a bit of leg. Love the details that Katoki put on this thing. On the down side, the design doesn't allow for some of the articulation that other machines have so I'll probably fix that before the end. Still struttin' along.

Skipped the legs for now and went for one of the weapons. Almost there. A section under the gun barrel and some bump maps should finish it off.

I didn't clear the transformation correctly, but it's still not that bad. The shoulder definitely needs a bit more work to get it to look right, and then shift correctly.

Toughing it out through the waist. Amazed at the detail that the machine has, especially in that it transform and looks even crazier.

Another weapon I hadn't figured on getting to when I finished ShinMusha. I believe there's also a weapon that appears to be a shotgun that I'll also have to get to when I find enough images to work with.
