Gundam MKII: Shield

Started work on the shield, but I think I'll just hit the sack. Feeling tired from work and todays run. Whew! Anyway, I don't foresee any problems with this for the time being. I might just move on to the next MS...

Gundam MKII: Legs 2

Looking a little bubbly around the edges again. Still needs a lot of finishing touches in terms of detail. Some of the frame under the legs still isn't done. But so far it's progressing.

Gundam MKII: Beam Rifle 2

Lost my mobile phone after a party yesterday and was taking the time to find it today so I haven't done much more on the gun. Still have to finish one side because it shouldn't look exactly like the other. Needs a few more grooves too.

Gundam MKII: Beam Rifle

Taking a break from the legs to work on the gun, which is nearly there. Again, wasn't too bad a build.

Gundam MKII: Legs 1

Finally getting to the legs. Seems like this set of legs aren't nearly as difficult as others have been. Additionally though, I'm investigating options for attempting a Hi-Nu and Nightingale. I half ass started that Hi-Nu, but I suppose I should probably try a Nightingale too. If only I could get my whole ass into it...

Gundam MKII: Backpack 2

Got sidetracked with Indiana Jones movies. Whoooee, they hardly ever get old. Of course the backpack came in second and here it mostly is, at the end of the movies. ;p

Started listening to music and got back into it. Probably hit the sack soon anyway, but decided to get the backpack started.

Gundam MKII: Arms

Didn't think it would take long to get the arms, but i was lazy today and the sakura looked nice outside. Tomorrow's going to rain so I'll probably stay inside all day and do some work.

Gundam MKII: Waist 2

Still shuffling through. Haven't finished some of the detail behind the actual flaps, but it's getting there. Might bump map some of that too if I get the gumption.

Working on the waist, and damn near there. But also looking for more pics for other models I was thinking of putting together...

Anyway..

Gundam MKII: Body 2

I'll probably stop this here and kick back with a beer tonight. Fixed some smoothing with the head and got into the body's frame a bit. Still needs rigging and whatnot. I'm banking on bump mapping the last detail lines that go against the poly flow near the end.

Gundam MKII: Body 1

Getting the idea that I might want to go with the torso that the Perfect Grade has so getting pictures together while getting the outside spiffy. Should get the innards soon.

The head is almost there. Got some annoying smoothing errors again that have to be addressed, but not looking shabby at the moment. Perhaps an extra bit here and there.

Gundam Mark II (MK-II)

mark2

Yet another that I had hoped to get to from pretty close to day one but only just now getting to. Kind of a crime in Gundam circles as so many others have successfully made this particular one. So I suppose that now it's my turn...

with the good old start of the "head"....

Oowashi Akatsuki Gundam

Decided that perhaps I should put something out for the Akatsuki. Not marvelous, but at least the surface is pretty close to what I wanted. Again, this is half of the full image, the Destiny is the other half. Thought I'd focus on just one machine at a time, even if the background is a bit jumbled. One day I'll figure it all out.

Destiny Gundam

I was just having a bit of fun I guess. I never did put anything out for it. I decided to make a large image that I could cut in half, for which this is the right half.

Murasame: Shield 2

Jeepers, she looks a little messed up transformed. I'll go in there and get it gussied up a bit before I use it. The transformation didn't go as I planned, but a bit of work on the rig and it should be right as rain. I probably relied too much on strike as a jump off point and not enough on Zeta. Still, it shouldn't be a bad fix.

Murasame: Shield

Finally getting to this part. Trying to get myself up and running for marathon training but seems like my legs aren't really moving like last year yet so taking time out for that every now and then.

Murasame: Legs 1

To keep the same scale, I built the leg armor on top of the strike legs, but using the zeta plus ideas for geometry. Needless to say it still requires some fixing, but I'm satisfied that it's going the way I want it to thus far. No need to make it super detailed, but I want to keep the stature about the same.

Murasame: Arms

Not sure whether I'll keep this configuration or change the forearm to a more Murasame look, but for now this is how I think I'll keep it. If the transformation suffers from it I'll change it.

Murasame: Waist

Elongated a few features of the waist section and did some changing on the side skirt. Again, it's a version adapted to the scale of the Strike Gundam so that it might look a little more master-grade-ish. Just guessing, of course.

Murasame: Body 2

I'll have to scale back the smooth textures setting because some of this is looking too "bubbly" again. Anyway, I'll also have to check the chest and shoulder sections once the arms are in place so that I can rig them and check to make sure they clear the chest section when transformed (like the zeta)

Murasame: Body 1

I tend to like variable form machines like the Zeta and Zeta plus units (though not so much Wing/Wing Zero or simpler machines). In that same spirit, I really do like the Murasame's transformation... I have a problem with it's boxy/rigid shape so I'm basically using an early version of the Strike body (again) and remixing the chest area. If all goes well it will be functionally similar and recognizable without the boxy shape -- and will keep the general design flow of Bee-Craft (who did not design the Murasame).

I also wanted to keep Strike's chest mobility, so I moved the chest swing arms toward the neck assembly so that the upper arms and shoulder could still rotate freely. I'll still have to modify the backpack so that when the chest swings up they can connect correctly and not have any weird missing parts.

If all was in good order it would seem that having the Takemikazuchi ship would also mean having some Murasame's lying about on deck as well. I've wanted to make one for the longest of time but never got around to it (as with most of the MS I've wanted to make). I suppose that this is it then. When I planned for it earlier [like 2 years ago] I had hoped to bash some other meshes together to make it. Even now I'm thinking about doing just that....

...of course, the rather normal, boring-looking "start" of the head...
how many times have I said that... ;p

Was going to try to make this a few years back but never got around to it. Now that the internet hasn't arrived at my new place yet, I've decided to sit down and try it out. So...the standard start. Will probably end up being "custom" looking as I'll try to incorporate things that actual aircraft carriers have. Well, some of them.
