Launcher: Quite Close

Thanks to one of the links in the last posts comments I was able to get the very basics for the cannon. It needs to be a lot wider and much of it needs to be distributed a little differently than I've got, but it's a start. Labels: Launcher, Striker Pack
So, I thought, "Hey, I've got the IWSP, AILE, and NOIR striker packs, why not go for some others"? Problem is that the only useful images are for the lower grade-ish plastic models... except one. Apparently Bee-Craft (the designer for some of the fancier Gundam Seed models) created a Launcher and Sword striker pack (on paper) for the Perfect Grade Strike Gundam. They're of course only ideas and never realized, but I think they could be quite useful in forging something out of them. Anyway, the Okawara front version is above on the left and the Bee-Craft (PG concept) is on the right. I haven't been able to find a front version of that particular concept art so I'll have to keep digging as usual. So the Launcher striker pack has been started from Bee-Crafts foundation artwork and using an earlier version of the strike that I put together. Wow, that Strike's getting old! | ..well, getting it into the backpack arms. Need to get a few pieces of detail in as well. Labels: Destiny |
Most of the physical backpack is there. Still needs the arms, armament and wings of course. Labels: Destiny
Starting the "one" cannon stored on the left side of the backpack.... Labels: Destiny
I just don't have time to get into anything big, so I gave a start to the Turn A Gundam, one of my favorites. I've been meaning to get to it for a long time, but never really did until now. Might as well. Anyway, I'll be off to some of the usual bore-hole meetings and whatnot this week so there isn't really much that I can do at the moment but fiddle around. Doing other things besides this as well. Labels: Turn A |
I was going to start on Destiny's backpack/wings, but then Wikipedia distracted me, then I thought about Hi Nu. Trying to spruce up the head a bit, but the face is looking too much like the MG version. If only I was rich and could afford these resin/plastic kits (then again, I'd probably buy something else with that money). Labels: Hi-Nu
Still going. Probably should start on the booster and fix the back side of the torso to reflect it. Kind of ignored it until now. Labels: Destiny
Not at all done. The lower arms are a bit too thin and the palm cannons haven't been constructed yet. I actually imported an earlier version of the strike freedom's lower arm that I made previously and reconstructed it so that the wrist section could rotate out and away from the arm -- as the hand guards appear that they could be an obstacle. Labels: Destiny
Trying for some detail that doesn't quite match the recent plastic version. Labels: Destiny
Back to Destiny for a second while I think about the other meshes. Getting a good foothold on the waist section. Labels: Destiny
I didn't figure on making one of these... EVER. But then a somewhat different proportioned plastic model came out (horribly expensive for me -- so not getting it) that seems to depart from the original idea of the Hi-Nu. Honestly, I only really don't like SOME of the changes made to it -- but then again, loads of modelers have made the original type as well. So I'm thinking that since most of what I've found online are shots of the plastic version, I'd make a few small changes to it. Ah, who knows. Thinking of taking a bit more time on it but use some parts from models I've constructed before. So,... a very early head that I've not decided on yet. Labels: Hi-Nu |
...just thought I'd start on it so that it wouldn't look like I was ignoring it. Brining some of the frame parts in from the Crossbone that was made earlier and getting the basics of the armor first. Labels: F91
I'll probably just bump map the rest, this little gun is starting to rack up some polys as is. Handle's probably a bit too wide too, I think. Labels: Noir
Shorty is the name of the handheld beam gun sported by the 105E which I think is an interesting departure from the long rifles of earlier on. The recipe calls for 2 of these on the Strike Noir. Labels: Noir
Still working on the backpack. Attached the swords to the holders that reside inside the wings, but still working on detail that is scattered throughout the wings/guns etc. Whew! Shocked still that so much goes into it, but then again I should have expected it considering it's a single pack with a lot of utility. Still need to rig the backpack after I finish. Labels: Noir
Pretty close. Not sure how I got an indenture in the blade. Must have made a mistake somewhere. Labels: Noir
I'm stupefied at the amount of detail that appears to be present in the Master Grade Noir plastic model. Basically it means that I'm still not done at all and have quite a ways to go. But I'll probably have to guess at what lies in the angles that I can't see from pictures. Labels: Noir, Striker Pack
Did it for the LOLZ (as they say) since today has been a not so great day. Just for the kick of seeing things fit without having to mess with a lot of things. Labels: IWSP, Noir, Striker Pack
The Noir striker pack seems full of detail so it's taking me a while to get started on it. Labels: Noir, Striker Pack
Just barely getting there. I've got to realign a lot of the leg parts and some of it seems a bit bent at the moment. Just still has a lot of problems I haven't hit yet. But hitting the sack for now as I'm feeling the onset of a cold coming. Labels: Noir
I knew the legs of the Noir were somehow different from the original strike, but I'm actually taken back by how different they are. The work that needs to be done to them is fairly substancial, though not quite enough to start from scratch. Anywho, getting my lazy arse to start that part now.... Labels: Noir
Basically it fits the proportions of the master grade with some detail from the cosmic era figure and a bit extra from what I've been able to gather from newtype magazine and whatever else on the net. Still haven't finished the frame. Probably save the cockpit for last. Labels: Destiny
Feeling tired today. I might not finish this one as timely as I had imagined because of it. Labels: Destiny
Almost there. Needs a lot of straightening out before I can say it's done -- but it's close. Labels: Destiny
I counted on being busy this week, so only getting to finishing the arms. Labels: Noir
