Rigging it up. Some of the Inverse Kinematics setup for the GM Command don't work to well on this Gundam. Gotta loosen up the hands a bit more and allow the shoulders to come out a bit. Labels: rx-78 |
Starting the legs. The kneecap section is mostly done. Have to move to the calves and add those tiny thrusters attached. Labels: rx-78 |
Now the waist. Slight mods here. Though they seem similar to the GM Quel and Hazel, some of the placement is different, particularly the side skirt. The KA version of the gm command has a weapons carrier in the rear of the waist which is carried over to the KA. Labels: rx-78 |
Modifying the Chest. Only slight modifications are necessary here; the largest being the vent system around the collar, the lowering of the collar and slight raising of the main cockpit hatch. Labels: rx-78 |
While I wait for the thumbs-up for making the Crossbone X3 and Skull Heart, I'm diving into the Gundam version KA which will be used specifically as content for the future anaheim machines site (not this blog). The process will be a conversion, which actually began with the GM Quel. From the Quel I built the Hazel. From there I built the GM Command, and from that GM Command will come the Gundam KA. Based on the GM Command, the conversion will only involve a few major changes: The head, the upper chest area, the waist skirts, a slight change in the rear booster and the front shin area of the lower leg. After that is generally just a recolor and other smaller changes. Since this is just a conversion, I'll probably just post here. The basic start of the head. Labels: rx-78 |
Basic run through for dirt, colors, etc. Maybe tomorrow I'll get this done... Labels: crossbone |
Attachment of the core fighter to the Mobile Suit. Seems to fit. ;) Labels: crossbone |
Getting pretty much there. Think I'll use bump maps to knock out the last detail. Labels: core fighter, crossbone |
Starting the crossbone core fighter... Labels: core fighter, crossbone |
... are basically there. I haven't gotten back to the legs yet. Perhaps when I finish the core fighter I'll go back and spruce things up. Labels: crossbone |
Bah, well I forgot some detail on the leg, but it's still basically there. I'll fix the problem and move on to the arms. Labels: crossbone |
It's difficult to find good reference spots on the reference photos I was using for the legs. Coming along slowly but surely though. Labels: crossbone |
Barring some small details, it's pretty much done on the waist part. Labels: crossbone |
Starting on the waist. Weaponry being built in makes it one of the most interesting waist areas I've ever built. Very creative work from the designer, in my opinion. Labels: crossbone |
The crossbone illustration posted earlier is the X1, while the Kai version is slightly different cosmetically. From now on, the X1 and X1 Kai will be worked on simulteneously (as will the other variations when they become valid during the workflow). At the moment, the head is the main difference. The body will be changed soon. |
