Nahel Argama: Bridge 1
Continuing by adding more detail and compartments while constructing new sections. Ballooning out to be quite a beast. Labels: Nahel Argama |

I tinkered a little with the parts just under the bridge section. I'll probably try a render after the bridge is done. A little at a time... Labels: Nahel Argama |
Got the crazy idea to try to model the NA a little closer to the anime sample version, which is quickly increasing the poly counts. It's a fun diversion though. Labels: Nahel Argama |
My wife got me Kshatriya for Christmas and I'm having a blast putting it together. So I've been preoccupied. This is nothing new. But it occurs to me that I haven't made a ship for this era, and since Unicorn will be showing at some point in the future, I fancied a shot at the Nahel Argama. Merry Belated Christmas! The gun needs to have some girth removed from its width and the frame needs more detail under it. I returned to a little bit of both the legs and the rear skirt with very small additions but that's about it thus far. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
The machine gun is going for the kai, but needs some smoothing out. Get that epac in there and things should be straight. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
Legs1...but I guess they're quite close to being structurally complete. Obviously there are scaling/collisioning and positioning issues relative to the rest of the mobile suit as far as the add-on armor is concerned, and there's a boat-load of improvement that can be done with detail in the leg area, but I'll be ironing them out while I finish the remaining armament. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
The shoulder armor is attached and parented. Need to fake some frame in there too. I went ahead and made the booster mounted on the top of the armor movable -- rotatable by the top of the mount, contrary to the wee figure which is static. Edit: Darn, missed a piece of detail on the rear skirt too... Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
Trying to get the shoulder armor modeled out here. Curvey as all get out. Need to knock some holes for decoration in there and then get some "frame" ish detail. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
And that basically gets a good portion of the waist out of the way. Trying conjure up some detail for the rear skirt just to take the "blah" out of it. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
Thar she blows. I haven't thought up a suitable look for the frame so I'm looking up aircraft images for it and starting to work on that. But the outside is pretty snazy except from the right side green-ish sensor thingy. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
Trying to model out the booster in the back, but it's taking a little time as unlike most parts, it's non-symmetric. So both sides have to be modeled and detailed differently. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
The front of the body isn't too far from finished, but looks bad with the waist of the GP-04 in the way. The sturm booster still isn't finished which is why it still isn't there, but should fit in the backside when I'm finished fiddlin with it. Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
In keeping with Gundam 0083's plot line, those zeon mechanics that worked at Anaheim Electronics took the now "unwanted" GP-04 and converted it into the Cima use Gerbera Tetra, a very zeonic looking MS. Designer Katoki Hajime's version (Gerbera Tetra Kai) changes the look of that mobile suit to literally make the suit look like it was an obvious refit. So I've gotten the head, but faking some detail underneath it. Also removing the armor that the GP-04 uses so that I can ready the Gerbera Tetra. I still need to remove more of the frame to accommodate the Tetra's rather roundish looking armor. The head's a little large, but we'll fix that... Labels: Gerbera Tetra |
Kind of bubbled the calves out a little more than I originally made, but I don't know if the Gerbera-Tetra armor will fit on top of it unless I enlarge that too. I took the GP-01 Shield and added the vents on the side corners of the lower sliding armor since the Fix figuration of both the GP-01 and GP-04 have shields that look reasonably similar -- almost identical. EDIT: The fuel tanks at the top of the backside are actually upside down. I have to get back to that. 12-10-2009 Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
Weee Dawgies! Getting there but still a little too square. The calves should probably be thicker, though the way they are now is not too far from "Katoki's" design. Got a dimple in the rear of the calf that needs to be removed. Needs to look a little more Popeye-ish though. Excited that I'm near the end. Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
And there are the "almosts" of the boosters. I was thinking about pulling some of the armor away from the inner frame of the booster to make it look like it holds a lot more, but for now it's ok. Incidentally, the POV makes them look stubbier than they really are. Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
Trying to get those fuel tank / boosters out of the way before I start on the legs. Starting to make a fake frame on the inside.... Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
The arms are there. Gotta cut the booster cones a little. I should probably smooth them out a little as they're lookin' mighty sharp. The backpack I still haven't gotten to finishing. Thinking I should glue together the fuel tank pieces and try to model them, but I'm working on finishing up the Xamel, Gouf and ZakuII surfaces. Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
The backpack is one of the sections that broke in my fix figuration. The cones came right out and the fuel tank/boosters were smashed. I have yet to get to the boosters but the backpack came through...mostly.... Got some smoothing errors in there. Looks like I'll have to delve back in. Labels: GP-04 Gerbera Gundam |
I reworked the GP01 and GP03 waists to fit this one, allowing the GP01's rear weapons rack to remain.... hey, why not. I need to drop the stomach down more into the waist more and probably thin out the torso a smidgen. The side verniers are a little too large at the moment -- but she's coming into view.
