Maganac: Guard Troop
Added a few updates to the shoulder armor and trying to vary the units. I haven't figured out how to get the commander units just yet. Labels: maganac |

Working on one of the rifles that seems to be part of the mobile suits armament. There seem to be a few more, but I'll have to dive in on what the roles of those are. Labels: maganac |
Looking through some examples, it looks like except for some "custom" Maganac units, most are slightly randomized other parts of shoulder guards, chest pieces and armament. Some look easy enough to carve out of the meshes but others I may not be able to create. Labels: maganac |
I'm not all that sure about the shield specifics but it should be kinda there. Fashioned the axe from a bit of the Sandrock shotel and went from there. Still thinking of the right direction. Labels: maganac |
I suppose the good news with the shield is that it so similarly resembles the Sandrock's armadillo unit version -- with some additions. Otherwise, just getting some starter geometry in.

I'm not really sure I like the legs at the moment. I think they're probably good placeholders, but the contour looks like it's not quite there. I'll see about getting back to them after moving on a bit. Labels: maganac |
I find it interesting that unlike the Xamel, Katoki didn't wrap the Maganac joints in the same kind of protective wrap. Labels: maganac |
This part is pretty hard as the upper waist line is obscured by some extra armor and the side skirt is an interesting rounded design. Not sure how to best add them but gave them a preliminary go. Labels: maganac |
It's likely that the lower stomach area is too close to the Tallgeese and I'll have to unify this a bit better to differentiate it. Labels: maganac |
Working off of the Tallgeese body to kickstart a general Maganac torso. Will have to adjust to what looks like forward heaviness a bit, but I also notice that there are some variations of this body as well so I'll look into that. Labels: maganac |
Looking at getting the wing back up and updated. So far the other 4 are pretty much there in so far as the general geometry and general surface. Labels: deathscythe, heavyarms, sandrock, shenlong |
This seems like the general shape of the standard maganac head unit. I'm not really sure how it compares to some of the alternates, but seeing the "Glory of Losers" versions, there are definite differences -- which is interesting that such changes were made. Labels: maganac |

Still working on what the textures might look like, but I'm not 100% on some decisions. Labels: deathscythe |
A few updates here and there for detail and adding the scythe. Started working on the textures a while ago, but after the detail I'll have to update those and re-apply. Labels: deathscythe |
I mean, it's a claw but probably also the shield? I don't think I ever paid attention to the depth of its usage. I think it's somewhat there though. Labels: deathscythe |
Moving on to the claw weapon portion, which I honesetly forgot about. I think the scythe is probably the thing I remember the most for this MS, but I suppose it's a given. Labels: deathscythe |
Feels like I've been working on these legs for ages and still haven't hit the mark. Will make some updates on detail. Labels: deathscythe |
I've been experimenting with the backpack, but I'm still not sure of how to finish it off. Not much on details yet. Labels: deathscythe |
Using the other gundam's arm's as a start point here, mostly because they are virtually identical for much of the structure, the shoulder armor is mostly the target here. Good block out. Labels: deathscythe |
Some misalignment happening on the midtorso and trying to work out detail on the top of the chest area, but bubbling along. Labels: deathscythe |
I wondered about some kind of hat like device to block out sun and sand, so I onboarded a Leo shield and tried a few sizes on. Labels: sandrock |
Getting started by boxing out shapes of the body and getting a general idea of what to put in. Labels: deathscythe |
Probably done enough on Sandrock Kai bits here except to finish off the surfacing on the cover and the surfacing on the rest of the sandrock underneath.
Labels: sandrock |
I'm not looking at making the armadillo unit, but at least the "custom" unit's cape/cover are on the bill. Getting in a good amount on the armored cover.
Labels: sandrock |
I feel like deathscythe's head has a lot of S-Gundam/EX-s similarity, so I may just go along with more of the ExS style from here.

The shotels aren't sharp enough and the textures still aren't as I was hoping. Sill working on the last bits. Labels: sandrock |
May have to make some changes. This shield is probably the hardest I remember trying to make. Labels: sandrock |
The shield Katoki envisioned is more detailed than I thought. Having a bit of trouble reproducing some of what I see. Still working on it. Labels: sandrock |
Checked dalong.net to see how the swords are supposed to be docked. Looking at it now, the handle is a bit nubbly and some region specific detail would probably serve this well. I'll experiment on some ideas for this. Labels: sandrock |
I need to read up on the name of this sword type in the show, but whatever that name is -- that's what I'm working on. Labels: sandrock |
I'm feeling super tired as of late. Trudging along with the legs still, but hopefully will finish in a bit. Too many thin pieces left to thicken up and the frame isn't there yet.
Labels: sandrock |
Mulling making the shoulder armor flair more "rock-ish", but for now it's a good placeholder as-is. Labels: sandrock |
I'm somewhat ok with how the pack is turning out so far, but as I haven't modelled the armament yet I'm sure there will be some changes as it goes.
Labels: sandrock |
Didn't like the way the backpack was going so went over to the waist to start there and return to the backpack a bit later.
Labels: sandrock |
The sandrock upper torso really seems similar to so many other "hero" mobile suits it's sometimes a bit off-putting. But it's different enough to be worth trying.
Labels: sandrock |
Good start on a head that could use more details. I'll add a bit more to this.
