Strike Noir: Arms 2
I counted on being busy this week, so only getting to finishing the arms. Labels: Noir |

Well here I finally am. I've got lots of work to do tonight so not much polygon pushing time today. Started the head of Destiny just to get my leg in the door. Based off the newly released Master Grade but I will probably use the Cosmic Era figure for additional detail. Labels: Destiny |
Modifying the arms to fit the Strike Noir armor. Interesting how the shoulder armer locks are a bit shorter than the Strikes. Labels: Noir |
Just realized there's a slight problem in the chest. But moving on. Labels: Noir |
Working on the waist now. Doesn't seem like much to do. A little lifting here and there. Redoing the front skirt armor and thinning out others a bit. The rear electrical terminal also juts out a bit farther on the Noir. For the most part, it still seems to fit the original Strike quite well. Labels: Noir |
Crap, I forgot some detail on the head again. Also, the body needs some last minute notches. Labels: Noir |
Basically all that has to be done is redoing the front section of the upper body, collar and a small bit in the back as well as replacing parts of the chest frame that are affected by the redo. The rest is virtually identical, or at least "similar enough" so that I don't have to do anything to it.... soooo...... going through it. Labels: Noir |
Been out buying costumes for the holiday party. Just got back on the Noir head. Needs a few finishing touches (grooves and whatnot). Labels: Noir |
Again, I figured I'd start a bunch now. This one is (of course) MOSTLY a conversion, but a lot of the Strike Noir is surprisingly different from the Strike. Parts like the body and legs have superficial differences but the head is almost completely different from each other. Still, I'm going under the premise that heavy modification of the Strike's head will eventually yield the Noir's without having to completely rebuild it, and so I reverted back to an early version of the Strike's head (I save almost every step) and started work from there to get where I am at the moment... I used the Astray Red Frame's "Gerbera Straight" as a jump off point for getting this sword, then backed off on the blade length and detail on the handle. Labels: shin musha |
The good old head is still undergoing some changes. Kind of looks Freedom-ish as it is. Labels: F91 |
Quite a few surfaces here. Playing around with some of it to see where I can go with it. Somehow the Rx-78's beam sabers are still in the backpack after I removed them.....strange magic. Labels: shin musha |
Getting close to getting the Shin Musha done so I figured on starting a bunch of others at the same time to force myself into finishing them all. ...with the obvious start of the head... as usual... Labels: F91 |
Went fishing with some friends in gale force winds like a weirdo, but we caught a lot and stayed a bit late so this is a bit late as well. Just realized that the ankle armor is backwards... always something.... Labels: shin musha |
Really only the lower leg need be modified in order to follow Katoki's version of the Shin Musha Gundam. So getting on to that one.... Also, changing servers so some strange stuff may happen in the next few hours. Labels: shin musha |
Needs lots of work to get the waist parts looking right. Barely resembles it at the moment. Labels: shin musha |
Still at it..... Forearm armor doesn't quite sit right so I'll be jiggling that around a bit. Labels: shin musha |
Still going. Resized the pipes on the body a little, but I might go a bit more. Still trying to get the proportions right on the shoulder guards. Labels: shin musha |
Getting to fiddlin' through the shoulder armor. Still a ways to go. Labels: shin musha |
Moving along a little quicker thanks to the links given in the comments from the last post. (thx ;)) Labels: shin musha |
First saw pics of this machine online and thought it might be fun to try out -- never played the game before though. Haven't picked up games in years. Figured I'd just upgrade the Rx-78 designed by Hajime Katoki (as this one is also designed by the same man/studio). So giving it the old heave ho start. Labels: shin musha |
Close enough for now. I was thinking of a small squad of these guys so I'll have to busy myself with some more surface mapping when I get the time. Needs a few bumps too. Labels: Ball |
Whew! Hard to get things done when your sleepy sometimes. I figured the arms would be done quicker, but still workin' on em. Labels: Ball |
Struggling to get back into the scheme of things. Messed my knee up a bit in the 'ol marathon so I'm back to sitting for a while. Anyway, getting to the ball I left behind starting with the gun. Labels: Ball |
